Italy: IP addresses and networks
Italy holds 54,085,248 public IPv4 addresses — 1.47% of all allocated IPv4 space, which ranks it #10 worldwide. Its address space is administered by RIPE NCC.
It also holds enough IPv6 to cover 708,775,983 end-site networks, a figure that says more about how recently its providers deployed IPv6 than about how many people live there.
1,318 autonomous system numbers are registered there, and 1,076 of them currently announce routes on the public internet.

Countries with a similar amount of address space
Allocation reflects when a country's networks joined the internet rather than its population, and addresses registered here can be routed anywhere in the world. That is one of the reasons IP geolocation is an estimate rather than a fact.
